💻 Ovemio on Windows
Install, set up, every menu item explained.
Installing
Download the setup file from the download page and start it with a double click.
On first launch Windows reports “Windows protected your PC” and names an unknown publisher. This is not a virus finding. The message appears as long as a file has not been downloaded often enough to be known to Microsoft. Click “More info” and then “Run anyway”.
Ovemio ends up in the Start menu. Uninstalling works like any other program via the Windows settings; your accounts and settings are kept in case you reinstall later.
Entering your first account
On first launch Ovemio asks where the channels should come from. There are three ways:
| Xtream | The most common case. You need the server address, user name and password. The address looks like http://server.tv:80 — with a port, without a trailing slash. |
|---|---|
| M3U | A ready-made list address, for example http://provider.com/list.m3u. Enough for channels, but usually brings no film database with it. |
| MAC | For accounts issued to a device identifier (00:1A:79:12:34:56). |
Ovemio brings no channels with it. What you enter here is your own source, and you are responsible for its lawfulness.
Typing errors in the address are the most common reason for “it doesn't work”. Watch out for http versus https and make sure the port is right.
Activating the licence
There is no 24-hour trial on Windows; here you need a licence key from the start. You can try Ovemio free of charge on an Android device — see How to test Ovemio.
Enter the key you have purchased under Settings → Licences and Access.
Keep the e-mail with the key. It is your proof of purchase — once gone, it is gone.
All menu items
The user manual explains every area and every menu item with pictures, plus which key does what.
When something goes wrong
| The picture stutters | Buffer one step larger. If that does not help, set the picture size to “somewhat more than half”. |
|---|---|
| Sound runs, the picture stays black | Switch on the safe video path under Playback. |
| A single channel does not work | That is almost always down to the source. Try the same channel on a second device. |
| Nothing loads any more | Account expired? Under Licences and accounts you find the expiry date of the list. |
If it stays that way, send us a report via Settings → Support → Report an app bug. It says what the app actually tried — that spares us both the guessing.
Updates
Ovemio reports when a new version is available and installs it on request. Settings, profiles and accounts are kept.
